ハナヤカボラ

特 徴：
殻高105mm，殻径35mm。殻は背が高い紡錘型で薄質軽量。体層は全高の65％。肩と周縁に幅広い橙赤色帯があり，地色はピンク色。胎殻は大きく球状。後生殻にはまっすぐな縦肋があり，次体層では20ある。肩のところでやヽ尖る。体層では不明瞭になる。この上に弱い約10本の螺溝が走る。殻口は広く半月形，外唇は僅かに厚く，反曲する。軸唇には白い滑層があり，この上に11本の軸襞がある。前管溝は短く僅かに反る。
採集記録：
水深128m（死殻l）。
備 考：
日本近海のヒタチオビ類Fulgorariaによく似た外見をもつが，胎殻は曲らず，軸唇に白い滑層が発達しその上に11の軸襞がある点で異る。属名はアメリカ近海の貝類研究に貢献をしたW.H. ドールを記念した。
Diagnostic characters：
Height 105 mm, breadth 35 mm. Shell elongate fusiform, thin, light. Protoconch bulbous. Teleoconch whorls with strong axial ribs, 20 on the penultimate whorl, somewhat pointed on the shoulder, becoming obsolete on the body whorl, and with weak spiral grooves. Color pinkish with two broad, interrupted reddish bands around shoulder and periphery. Aperture somilunar. Outer lip weakly reflected. Columellar lip with white callus carrying 11 folds. Siphonal canal short, feebly recurved.

Off Suriname, 128 m.
Remarks：
This species somewhat resembles Japanese Fulgoraria (s. l.), but protoconch is not tilted with developed callus on the columellar lip carrying 11 folds.
