Height 52 mm, breadth 24 mm. Shell cylindrical, thick, heavy, with low spires and large body whorl. Spires not inflated with stepped suture. Body whorl shining, with brownish wavy axial stripes on yellowish orangy background. Aperture narrow. Outer lip parallel to columellar lip, grayish within. Fasciole covered by a thick callus, with 3-4 folds. Operculum lacking.
Distribution:
Southeast Florida, Bermuda, Brazil.
Remarks:
A large variability in color pattern exists. A specimen trawled from a depth of 50 m is forma nivosa.
