Height 83 mm, breadth 32 mm. Shell solid, elongate fusiform, with 6.5 whorls, covered with thick brown periostracum. Spires with axial ribs, 21 on the penultimate whorl, not reaching to the base on the body whorl, overridden by slender spiral ribs, 10-12 in number on the penultimate whorl, tending to become coarser abapically. Base with more 20 spiral ribs. Aperture narrowly oval with smooth outer lip. Callus deposited from inner to columellar lips with oxidized silverly hue. Operculum leaf-shaped with anteriorly situated nuculeus.

Remarks:
This species resembles North Pacific P. escychus. Bartschia canetae may be the closest ally.
