Height 60 mm, breadth 35 mm. Shell thick, solid, fusiform but compressed dorso-ventrally. Except for vitreous protoconch, each whorl carries varix that connected with each other. Whorls with several granulate spiral ribs of which peripheral one strongest. Surface brownish, somewhat darkens on spiral ribs. Aperture fusiform with thickened outer lip that carries a dozen of denticles inside. Columellar lip with a thin callus and slender, irregular folds. Siphonal canal short, slightly recurved. Posterior canal distinct at the posterior corner of the varix. Radula of taenioglossate; central shallow V-shaped, with large central and 2 small lateral cusps and basal projections; lateral bifurcated with 3 denticles; inner marginal also bifurcated but outer marginal unicuspid.
