特 徴：
外套長4cm。外套膜は背腹にやゝ扁圧された袋形でコウイカ類を思わせる。鰭は外套膜の側縁全体に亘るが，多数の支持肉糸とその間の膜に分かれ，極めて特異な外観である。幼稚期は鰭は後位にしかないがやはり多数の肉質支柱がある。腕はむしろ短かく，吸盤は2列，先端4列になる。触腕は泳膜はなく8列の吸盤をもつ。内臓上に大型の1発光器をもつ。
採集記録：
水深530〜820m（4個体）。
分 布：
各大洋の温熱帯域。
Diagnostic characters：
Mantle dome-shaped, slightly compressed dorso-ventrally, 4 cm in length. Fins extend to the entire length of the lateral mantle, consisted of many fleshy supports between which thin membrane presents. Arms rather short, with 2 rows of suckers but change into 4 rows distally. Tentacular club with 8 rows of suckers. A large light organ lies on the viscera in the pallial cavity.
Distribution：
Bathypelagic in the tropical world oceans.
