Mantle short, conical. Fins extend to the entire length of mantle, circular, thick, 140% as wide as mantle length. Arms with 2 rows of suckers of which horny rings smooth at proximal margin but present 7─9 semilunar teeth distally. Tentacle long, club with 4 series of suckers of which central 3─4 pairs prominently larger than the others having 32 low teeth. Four photophores present on the eye-lid and a single photophore on the posterior ventral mantle. Gladius lacks of endocone but terminates in a blunt spoon.

Among the samples under study a single demolished specimen of Cycloteuthis sirventi was found.
