Carapace, chelipeds and ambulatory legs clothed with thick short hairs of equal length, and in addition with sparse long stiff hairs in male. Carapace oblong, with swollen posterior branchial regions of both sides; dorsal surface ill-defined, only with an oblique furrow from anterior end of posterior branchial region of each side. Front armed with two strong, flat tubercles. External orbital spine directed obliquely a little forward and upward. Flagellum of antenna provided with thick short hairs, being much longer than the length of carapace. Chelipeds slender in both sexes; a small spine at distal end of upper border of merus, and a similar one at outer margin of distal end of carpus; upper border of movable finger thin; prehensile margin of immovable finger sharply dentate and excavated along its inner margin; immovable finger ends in a sort of fork, to which the tip of movable finger is just fitted. Ambulatory legs extremely long. Last two reduced legs with cheliform extremities.
